Mary's Lamb Publishing Introduces 'the Christian Parent's Answer to the Harry Potter Phenomenon'

Mary's Lamb Publishing recently debuted their first Give & Share Book™ entitled "The Secret of Yahweh!" at the International Christian Retail Show, and it proved to be an instant favorite.

My firstborn son's coma was the sacrifice it took to open my eyes to God's plan for me. Now I have a promise to keep

Addison, Mich. (PRWEB) August 14, 2008 -- Scotland's J.K. Rowling, the once unknown author who claimed to create Harry Potter from her imagination, stirred up American pop culture by exposing children to spells, witchcraft and wizardry. Now, an American author is stirring up the answer, exposing children to true secrets, myths and miracles. The author introduces character J.C. Lamb, who came not from the imagination, but from a sacrifice and a vision from God.

The Secret of Yahweh!
The Secret of Yahweh!

Mary's Lamb Publishing recently debuted their first Give & Share Book™ titled "The Secret of Yahweh!" at the International Christian Retail Show, and it proved to be an instant favorite. The line that formed to meet author LeFerna Arnold-Walch and get a copy of her book was one not usually seen for an unknown writer (especially one whose testimony claims she is "not much of a writer.") LeFerna has become a leading authority on the un-churched family since her son's car crashed into a church in 1998.

"My firstborn son's coma was the sacrifice it took to open my eyes to God's plan for me. Now I have a promise to keep," she says. The author and veteran entertainer also has radio and television experience, and will be a recommended guest for talk shows across America in an August 2008 issue of Radio and TV Interview Report Magazine.

LeFerna says what makes her Christian children's novel newsworthy and unique is not only that it stands up for our "under God" Christian history in the United States and introduces a character whose mission is to reach 100 million un-churched Americans, but that each book creates 12 new or reaffirmed disciples for Christ when the circle goes unbroken and the book is returned to its original owner.

"It is a new family-reading experience that has people calling J.C. Lamb the Christian parent's answer to the Harry Potter phenomenon," LeFerna says.

Christian parents can compare J.C. Lamb to Harry Potter in several ways:

  • Instead of a lightning bolt on the forehead, J.C. Lamb wears the sign of the fish on his chest, right over his heart
  • J.C. Lamb is magical because God sent him as a messenger arriving in a vision from a song, not in a basket to live under the stairs.
  • Instead of using wands and witchcraft, children who meet J.C. Lamb learn how to spiritually see with their hearts by believing in things they cannot always see with their own eyes--which is an important lesson, since not everyone can see J.C. Lamb at first!
  • J.C. Lamb uses "Give & Share" as his sport of choice instead of quidditch.

This "magical" book also contains secrets the author didn't see coming.

When LeFerna finished the first book draft, the title was "Meet J.C." This was before she said she felt led to rewrite the true names of God and Jesus into "Mystery Sunday" and change the title to "The Secret of Yahweh!"

"After this change, strange things began to happen," LeFerna says. "It was as if the secrets to the novel extended beyond the pages of the book. My first surprise was the way this twist on Mary's Little Lamb seemed to be attracting adult readers claiming to learn something new from this children's story about Christianity. This was quite a complement for someone who claims to have spent the first 40 years of her life 'wandering in the wilderness' of the un-churched."

Initially, LeFerna thought she was writing for ages 7 to 12, adding more than 100 illustrations so parents would read it with their younger children, but the library refused to stock the book, claiming it didn't have an age category at all. LeFerna then revised the book with its own lending program for church members to use as a tool to reach out to all ages, seeing to whom and how far the book travels before coming back (with some being sent overseas to U.S. soldiers).

Mary's Lamb Publishing predicts tweens will enjoy sharing J.C. Lamb books the most, but as school draws near, college students seem to love J.C. Lamb, too -- and want to start their own circles on campus, picking up on the slogan: "Do you know the secret yet?"

A novel for the 'child of God' in all of us, the book is available to booksellers through Ingram/Spring Arbor as well as online.

"Jesus tells us in the book of Mark to 'be as little children,'" LeFerna says. "What a great way to learn about Christianity or reaffirm your faith. Read this Christian children's novel and see if J.C. Lamb in 'The Secret of Yahweh!' really is the 'answer' people say it is."

Do you know the secret yet?

While we are still waiting for an Angel Investor to come forward to support our endless ideas for J.C. Lamb products, the marketing possibilities for "The Secret of Yahweh!" are still coming in! Do you think another secret to this may be that J.C. Lamb is going to become the Angel investor that we need?

Mary's Lamb Publishing is about to release a new marketing plan that creates more buzz about the novel than it is already getting!

"the first children's book for the child of God"

"the Christian parent's answer to the Harry Potter phenomenon."

The plan is to reach as many unchurched people as possible, with a special invitation to take what they've learned (or brushed up on ) from the book and attend church! Twelve new modern day disciples at a time!

Watch for this to happen soon!

The Secret is on Me!

Remember that 82,388 word, 100 illustration novel for children I told you about in my last post? I explained how it started as a much smaller book titled "Meet J.C." before things happened to lead me into a much deeper study, changing the title to "The Secret of Yahweh!"
I had so much fun writing that book. I was like a new child of God myself!

Looking back, this was another great learning experience for me. I didn't believe in the devil back when I lived in my own little unchurched world. I just thought this was it! We were already living in hell and negativity and pain was the devil. That was before I started working for God. Every negative force possible came at me to try and stop me from publishing this book! Everything went wrong with the formatting and my first copy made it out by the deadline of 07-07-07... but it was in terrible shape! I was trying to format with Word and use graphics in the headers and footers... and I didn't know anything about word processing at all! What an experience! Of course our new company took on the publisher roll and THAT was a learning experience and a half! Anyway, I started realizing there must be something very special about this book I was writing, because the stress took it's toll on me. I was beginning to cry over everything like I was having a nervous breakdown and I wanted to quit and give up SO bad— all those things Satan knows a woman with A.D.D. would do! My husband's congestive heart failure got worse and our finances fell apart. When that didn't stop me, I had my own $2000.00 trip (no insurance) to the hospital emergency room and found out I had high blood pressure and Diabetes. Since my grandmother lost both of her legs to this, I thought I should take it serious, but the medicine made me too sick to work. So I am basically on prayer and watching my sugar. I won't let it stop me! I have a promise to keep! Now I have these streaks of white in my hair from all the stress, but part one of the project, the first novel is finished!

"The Secret of Yahweh!" was finally ready to distribute by the SEVENTH revision! So actually the date of the story ended up in first print by 07-07-07 but the book finally came together the seventh try after that. This was not the first hint of biblical numbers in my life, our testimony is filled with them. So I was sure that this book was going to reach the unchurched after all. Hallelujah! God is SO awesome the way He works through us!

And here I thought it would be hard to tell people about Jesus if I couldn't sing it!

As I said in the last post; "The Secret of Yahweh" is a gentle way of teaching about Christianity and exposing some of the myths and secrets in the Bible that have caused so much confusion in our faith. I will not tell you the secrets in this book as it will spoil it for you, but it seems like the REAL secret is on ME! No one can determine an age group for it, and the fact that this book is attracting adult readers is unreal! It was originally written for 7-12-year-old readers with over 100 illustrations added so parents could share it with the younger ones, but I never dreamed I would be entertaining adults in this children's book!

When I asked God "Why me?" looking at this huge project He was giving me, and how much study I had in front of me to do it right, He answered "Who better to teach the unchurched than the unchurched?" If I can learn and get excited writing it, then other adults can learn and get excited reading it.

And what I didn't think about until now, was that God's children are all ages! What better way to brush up on your Christianity or learn how to become a Christian than with a children's book? It certainly is easier to understand than the Bible, since I can only write on an eighth grade level! And of course it is going to be entertaining, since that is what I am originally. An entertainer. (I am even taking a ventriloquist course now so that I can go out and promote J.C. Lamb and sell those books for Mary's Lamb Publishing!)

A second edition with a new cover has been created since the exciting news that this book is being enjoyed by all ages and read as a family. Also a new media release will go out the second week of June! "Lamb Chosen to Teach 100 Million the Secret - Adults Flock to Read Children's Book!"

Pray it reaches the unchurced families!

Lets get this little guy out where he belongs!

When Times are Tough, We Turn to God

The world is rough right now. Times are tough everywhere. There are children in the world that are hurting and they don't understand why. There are adults who are losing their homes and loved ones, hurting inside like children themselves. Bible prophecy is happening all around the world; proving more and more that the world as we know it, is coming to an end just as the Bible says it will. The Rapture is coming upon God's Children. The ones who will be saved through it all. Only God will see that His children find their way home and they'll have no more pain or sickness. These are the children with Jesus in their hearts.

When times are tough, we turn to God our Father. It is my hope that in the near future more of the unchurched society will be ready to turn to God as well, and when they do, they also need to know Jesus. This is what makes us true Children of God. We listen, we learn the Word and we believe in the Saving Grace of Jesus Christ; come to live in hearts until we get to meet Him face to face in heaven. Sounds pretty simple to me. But it's not that simple for the unchurched to understand. How many of us have really read the Bible and studied it on our own? I am just guessing that number would be small. Most of us have been "taught" or "told" what the Bible says to eliminate the confusion. When it comes time to go out and help God gather His sheep, it isn't easy. Do we have it right? Do we understand enough to "spread the Word of God?" The answer may surprise you. Most of us don't. We think we understand, we go to church and keep trying to understand, but we still have too many unanswered questions ourselves to go out and try to teach someone else all about Jesus! I knew nothing before I started years of study. But then I grew up unchurched! And just maybe I know more about God's Children than I thought I did! What a ride this has been, too.

I've just finished an 82,388 word novel for children with over 100 illustrations, that is getting great reviews! So big deal, right? I'm only one of thousands of people writing books today. But how many have written a Book that God had His hand in? Oh, yeah, I know, you've heard people claim this before. Anything to sell books, right? But I am not a writer. I am not an illustrator. I have dabbled in both, but I'm not trained in either one. My grammar is horrible and my spelling is worse. But God led all the right people to me that were strong where I was weak. It took me nine years of research and study to feel like I could do it. Then finally when the book was done, I was sure it was the right thing to do by the way negative things kept trying to get in the way of it being published. But it was how I know God had His hand in it that is exciting to me, and great news for the 100 million unchurched people in our country whether they know it yet or not!

"The Secret of Yahweh" is a gentle way of teaching about Christianity and exposing some of the myths and secrets in the Bible that have caused so much confusion in our faith. I will not tell you the secret in this book as it will spoil it for you, but it seems like the REAL secret is the fact that this book is attracting adult readers! It was originally written for 7-12-year-old readers with over 100 illustrations added so parents could share it with the younger ones, but I never dreamed I would be entertaining adults in this children's book! Then it hit me. God's children are all ages! What better way to brush up on your Christianity or learn how to become a Christian than with a children's book? It certainly is easy to understand since I can only write on an eighth grade level. And it is very entertaining, since that is what I am originally. An entertainer.

What I am trying to do is keep a promise I made to God when my firstborn son, Travis' car crashed into a church, leaving him to die in a coma. I promised God that if He spared my son, I would make sure more children knew about His! Doctors said that Travis would die, or at best be a vegetable the rest of life—his brain injury was so severe. I raised my first son unchurched like I was, and I found myself crying; "Dear Lord! He must be frightened!" No mother should ever have to watch her child lay dying in a coma and wonder if they will be saved or not! Now I am sure, looking back, that God had His hand in this from the beginning. Travis was actually the sacrifice it took to get my attention AND my promise! What a perfect story for this mother and son team to use to go out and reach the other 98,999,999 unchurced people in America! We weren't just being called. We were set up!

Miracle after miracle came into our lives, another book in itself with all the signs I received in that hospital, as I watched Travis go from an infant state to adulthood for the second time in his twenty-one year old life! I didn't think God would let someone die who crashed into a church! Travis set a goal to walk with a cane by Thanksgiving and to go home walking on his own by Christmas and he made those goals! He then went on to a major college and spent eight years and tons of loans getting his degree! With the brain injury Travis could only handle halftime status. But he set his goal, again, and he did it! God definitely kept His end of the bargain!

The gift I've always known God gave to me was music. But I wasn't just a singer and songwriter, I was a full-blown entertainer. It was in my blood since my first appearance on television at age 14. But my career was full of pain. Every time I got close to a major contract or higher step in my career, something terrible would happen! I am quite sure I have had every bad thing that can happen to woman and still get up and walk away from, happen to me. I have learned a lot of lessons in life. Another book, I'm sure.

It wasn't until my two biggest fans, my parents, both died; one from cancer and the other from an aneurysm two days later, did I began to look at things in life differently. I was baptised as a baby, but for some reason they quit going to church, so I was raised unchurched. I never remembered seeing them attend church, until it was time to die. This made me want to know God. I mean Really know God and how He worked. As I studied, my songwriting became more spiritual. I decided that maybe all those bad things that happened to me in my career is because I was heading in the wrong direction with my music. So then it was official. I would go into music ministry. Which is how I thought God wanted me to keep my promise to Him—by singing a message. But God already had plenty of messengers out there in music ministry. I had no idea at the time, but I was different. I was a promise-keeper.

Just after I officially decided to go into music ministry our home burned down. We lost everything, but were very blessed to all be away at the time. We only had left what was in our barn (where we ended up living for seven years while fighting our crooked insurance company... yes another book!) What I had with me that was spared, was all my music equipment. So I took this as a sign to forget about all my worldly goods, pick up my cross and follow Jesus! It was only a few weeks later that Travis crashed into the church!

While he was in his coma, I was told that his hearing was the last to go. So I wrote a lullaby and sang it in his ear every night. I went to my favorite Christian bookstore and bought him some Christian music that was hip hop style (God's Original Gangstas) and played it for him through head phones. That was the first sign we knew he was waking up. We saw him tapping his toe to the music! After his miraculous recovery, and he went away to college, I had that promise to keep so I went to work writing enough songs for a CD project to start touring and singing for Jesus! It didn't know which studio my producer was from at the time, but I was scheduled at Trinity Broadcast Network's studio in Nashville, TN. and needed ten songs by then. After I wrote the ninth one I just went blank—like writer's block, but I went anyway. The ninth song was called "Mary's Lamb," a song that was a twist on Mary's Little Lamb, the lamb being Jesus and Mary the Mother of God. This song was different than all the rest, as it came with a full color vision! The vision was of a little cartoon lamb that followed children to school, but by way of all their school supplies and their clothing. They all knew he represented Jesus so the constant reminder made them feel safe at school. It was a great vision and a great idea for someone, but it was much too large for me to tackle, so I ignored it. The vision kept coming back stronger and more vivid and just as it was with my past music career, everything started going wrong with my music ministry.

I became absolutely obsessed with lambs! My collection grew and grew. I am still wearing the sterling silver lamb around my neck that I would hold when I prayed for guidance. Meanwhile I tripped over cords, had my music cued wrong, was rained out by thunderstorms, and I even fell off the stage once! I kept trying to do concerts for "love offerings" that barely paid my expenses and sold my CDs, but I felt like I was trying to make money off of God! I didn't like that feeling! Music ministry is important, and they have to pay for their time some way. But it just wasn't for me. One thing led to another, until I quit doing concerts and quit my job, and went to work on this vision God had given to me. I finally got it! God was only using the gift He gave me to communicate with me! I was told this when I walked the beautiful grounds of the TBN studios in Nashville. I felt so comfortable there, but it hadn't clicked yet. I was not the evangelist type! I remember how hard it was when my church wanted us to go out and tell our neighbors about Jesus and invite them to our church. Was that it? Was I secretly afraid of being called a "Bible Thumper?" People might slam the door in my face! One of my neighbors hasn't been back since he asked; "When did you go an get religion?" I didn't have the backbone for that. There had to be a gentler way.

That was nine years ago. I have done a lot of research and Bible study and I am excited to tell the world what I know now! Could God be calling on the entertainer He put inside me? I always knew how to draw and keep a crowd. He knows I am excited to tell the world what it is to be a new child of God!!! He is definitely working on this whole project through me, but being new, I got His message in bits and pieces only seeing the end result. But as Isaiah tells us in the Bible, only some will see what God is showing us, and I felt blessed to get to see the end result! So I went for it! I let go and let God!

I decided to analyze the vision and what I came up with was that the ultimate goal of the project was to have a little lamb that is so popular that it makes his way into public schools. Not just any little lamb, but one who just "the sight of" tells everyone he represents the love and saving Grace of Jesus Christ. So our children are never alone! A powerful thought when children can be taken from us, even at school, in just the blink of an eye! But how was I supposed to do that? You can't just put school supplies and children's clothing out with a cartoon lamb on them and expect people to want to buy them. I knew, because I owned a screen print business for years. It was supposed to be the message he represented not just a cute little lamb. This vision was HUGE... this lamb was popping up all over the world! So first, people have to know who the little lamb is and especially who he represents! What was going to set him apart from any other little lamb?

Now I am going to sound a little kooky, but I was woke at 4:44 am many times, and each time I would look at the clock and almost instantly be given an idea or more information I needed to get this job done. I felt like I had an army of angels behind this project. One of those mornings was when I was given the name. His name would be J.C. Lamb. Then it wasn't long and I was given the unexpected talent to draw the cartoon character of him! It wasn't long before I was given the picture of a heart patch that had the sign of the fish on it to put on his chest. And from this, came his entire personality. He grew right before my eyes. Piece by piece, bit by bit.

To protect him, trademarks all fell into place and copyrights were put in order. But then what? How was I supposed to tell the world about J.C. Lamb? How was I going to get Christians to fall in love with him so they would share him with all the unchurched people out there?

If this country can spend $440,000,000.00 collecting Teddy Bears... then maybe a jointed, plush lamb would be the answer! After all, with a name like J.C. Lamb, how could he lose? But then what would make people want to buy the lamb? He has a much bigger hero than Teddy Roosevelt... and he represents a hero that has a story about saving a lot more than a bear!!! But how would people know that this Lamb was special? A vision from God?

Then I was led across the path of a very excited writer. Being a published author meant more to her than anything. So amazingly, this gave me the idea to write a book. She said she would help me in any way she could. It was the best way I knew to introduce J.C. Lamb to the world so he could be with us all and help us teach Christianity. I somehow knew that if I listened to what God told me, He would make sure the book sold to the right people. I know that J.C. Lamb is a witnessing tool that God has given to all of us and that needed to be shared with everyone. I guess I should have gotten the first clue that God had taken a hand in this book when He changed the title! The book was called simply; "Meet J.C." (Like I told you, I am not a writer!) The first printing was small and then I was led to a Bible study called "Come to Understanding" with Dr. Kerby Fanin, and the lights came on! It was so much fun learning Biblical history! God's real name and how it came to be lost in the transcripts. The many verses that have been compromised, and some missing completely. And most of all WHY. What a wonderful Bible study it was! My book grew and grew and GREW! Then when it was finished, the title didn't feel special enough for the introduction of J.C. Lamb into our lives; so it became "The Secret of Yahweh!" right away I knew the title came from God when I had people ask me who Yahweh was. People who went to church and knew the Bible well, too (They knew their Bible well). Everyone who reads it says they can't wait to find out what the secret is! Hallelujah! It's His tool. It's His book. It's all about His Lamb! It's His way to turn us all into good shepherds like His Son.

My son got his BAA in entrepreneurship (grin) and he helped me incorporate Mary's Lamb Ministry into a corporation. Mary's Lamb, Inc. is now dedicated to seeing that J.C. Lamb ends up in the hearts and in the arms of every Child of God in America. Our mission is to reach the 27 million unchurched children through Children of God everywhere. We want to put Jesus in the arms of little children who suffer in third world countries and more and more in our own homeland! This is why J.C. Lamb's first book is based on our American Christian history and traditions like saying the words "under God" in The Pledge of Allegiance. A tribute to all our soldiers can be found in these pages as well.

Speaking of tributes, the book is dedicated to the original Mary Sawyer of Mary's Little Lamb fame, as she never received credit for the poem written for her. Her love for her lamb has inspired many a writer. I even named the children's teacher Miss Sawyer as a continuing tribute to her. She just may have been planting the seeds of what could become the largest Christian Children's movements of all time!

Now, for the reason I am writing this lengthy blog. All these years I have worked on this project—investing everything I could. I haven't worked, dedicating all my time, and I have even gone so far as to design and begin production of the plush version of J.C. Lamb that will go into the arms of children everywhere to know the loving comfort of Jesus in their lives. I am doing it all with the help of Travis who has nearly 100 thousand dollars in college loans on hold. I've paid for courses in marketing to work with him, learned publishing and paid all the fees, and even added a $2000.00 trip to the emergency room to find out I had Diabetes. My husband is retiring with congestive heart failure so we are at the point where we need investors. Travis suggested we incorporate and sell stock, so my friends and family have now purchased enough stock to pay for the expensive trademarks and advertising in the upcoming International Christian Retailer Show in Orlando in July. But God knows, with credit cards maxed, I still don't have all the finances it takes to make a vision like this come to life like it should. So I am waiting patiently now. I know our Angel investor is out there.

I tried to enroll in a media summit to get exposure and find whomever it was that God may be leading to us next, but they returned my money. I thought it was because our company was faith-based and needed it's own category which they did not supply. Imagine that. What our President encourages us to support, too. Faith-based businesses.

There are so many things I still can learn from so many people. I can't wait to meet them for J.C. Lamb's sake!

After all we have done, with prayer, the school supplies won't be far behind!!!

A faith-based business today should be an investor's first choice! In a time when everyone is going to want to turn to God, J.C. Lamb will find his way into every heart he can, in the name of Yahshua, Jesus the Messiah!

God gave J.C. Lamb to all of us for our future. I would love to hear from you, especially if you have any suggestions for putting him in the arms of more children in need!

I'm excited to meet the Angel God sends our way to invest in Jesus!

Is it you?
